Emily Dickinson是我接觸英詩時第一個感到投緣的詩人，就是因為以下這首詩，我記住了女詩人的名字。Dickinson的詩作已有幾個中譯本，我這麼多此一譯，就當是個人對詩人的一份紀念和謝意吧。

How happy is the little Stone
That rambles in the Road alone,
And doesn't care about Careers
And Exigencies never fears —
Whose Coat of elemental Brown
A passing Universe put on,
And independent as the Sun
Associates or glows alone,
